Tenax TA: Located at the forefront of the sampled airflow, it is a porous polymer of 2,6-diphenyl-phenylether. It has a color close to white, hydrophobicity (low affinity for water), and good thermal stability (can withstand up to 350 ℃). It is mainly responsible for adsorbing volatile organic compounds with higher boiling points (such as C7-C30).
Graphitic carbon black (such as Carbopack B, STH-2): located in the middle layer. It has moderate adsorption strength and is mainly responsible for adsorbing organic compounds with medium boiling points (such as C5-C12).
Carbon molecular sieve (such as Carboxen, TDX-01): closest to the outlet, it is a strong adsorbent. Its characteristic is a very high specific surface area, mainly responsible for adsorbing volatile organic compounds with low boiling points and small molecules (such as C2-C5), such as ethylene, ethane, etc.
This "weak medium strong" sequential filling design ensures that VOCs components with different polarities and wide boiling ranges (from C2 to C30 or even higher) can be effectively captured and retained, preventing penetration loss during the sampling process and achieving comprehensive enrichment
