方法原理

The determination of acrolein in exhaust gas using a 15% PEG-20M/Chromosorb W AW DMCS packed column is a very classic and reliable gas chromatography analysis method.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of acrolein in exhaust gas was performed using packed column gas chromatography hydrogen flame ionization detector (GC-FID). After the sample is collected (usually using an absorption bottle or gas bag), it is injected directly or diluted into a gas chromatography system. The target compound is separated on a chromatographic column and detected by a FID detector.
Method principle
Sampling: Acrolein in the exhaust gas is collected using distilled water or a suitable absorption solution (such as 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine derivatization method, but this method involves direct injection).
Separation: Gaseous samples enter the chromatography system through the injection port. Driven by the carrier gas, the sample flows through the chromatographic column.
Fixed phase: PEG-20M is a polar stationary phase with good retention and separation ability for compounds containing carbonyl (C=O) and hydroxyl (- OH) groups.
Carrier: Chromosorb W AW DMCS is a diatomaceous earth carrier treated with acid washing (AW) and dimethyl dichlorosilane (DMCS). It has a good surface inertness and can effectively reduce the tailing and adsorption of polar compounds such as acrolein.
A coating amount of 15% belongs to a high proportion, providing sufficient stationary phase to fully separate volatile organic polar compounds.
Detection: The separated components enter the FID detector in sequence. Acrolein burns in a hydrogen flame to produce ions, which are captured by the collection electrode to form an electrical signal whose intensity is proportional to the mass of the component.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis: Qualitative analysis is conducted by comparing the retention time of samples and standards, and quantitative analysis is performed using external or internal standard methods.
